Kabuki - Japanese theatre. No woman allowed. Only male actors. I have seen this live. At first I was incensed by the no women thing. Still am. But it is very beautiful and emotive.

Kabuki actor, ICHIKAWA Danjuro XII (1946~2013): Known for playing masculine characters such as warriors from Japan’s feudal era, Danjuro was the 12th kabuki actor in the Ichikawa family to use the stage name, taking on the title in 1985. He took part in the very first kabuki performance to be held at the Paris Opera House in 2007.
