Shikoku has a very mountainous interior. It includes the highest mountain in western Japan, Mt. Ishizuchi. Not all of the mountains are grand however. There are some cute little mountains too.

Mt. Tsurugi is the second highest mountain on Shikoku and in western Japan. You can get to it fairly easily by chairlift, or you can hike up from one of the nearby valleys. There are many wonderful hikes leading off the main peak. #tsurugi #second_highest #ridge_walks

Ishizuchi means 'stone hammer' and it's named after its pointed peak. This holy mountain is what remains of a huge caldera formed after an eruption billions of years ago.
