"Klimt" 15mm square shaped, Venetian Glass Bead earrings. These handmade, lampworked beads have a base color of black Murano Glass, with "cracked gold" of 24 Karat Gold Foil, covered with multicolored mosaic canes, "Millefiori"; which means, thousand flowers. Then the entire bead is covered with crystal clear Murano glass to protect the gold foil, and to give the bead an extra sheen. Please note that these beads are handmade, beads, made one-by-one under the flame. The glass artisan in Venice, Italy, picks various colors of millefiori, colorful canes or glass rods, to melt onto the square shaped beads. No two beads will look exactly alike, and will have various colors. I have wire wrapped these earrings and accented them with black faceted crystals, metallic faceted crystals, and gold bead caps. He was an Austrian Symbolist painter and one of the most prominent members of the Vienna Secession movement. His major works include paintings, murals, sketches, and other art objects. Klimt's 'Golden Phase' was marked by positive critical reaction and success. Many of his paintings from this period used gold leaf. One of the works most popularly associated with this period is the "The Kiss" (1907 to 1908). Klimt travelled little, but trips to Venice and Ravenna, both famous for their beautiful mosaics, most likely inspired his gold technique and his Byzantine imagery.
