大和型戦艦 - Yamato class battleship
The Japanese super battleship Yamato under steam during trials in 1941. She and her sister ship Mushashi were the heaviest and most heavily armed battleships ever constructed. At 72,800 tons displacement, the Yamato carried a battery of nine 18.1-inch guns and was bristling with secondary armament. Yamato was sunk in April 1945 under US attack from sea and air 180 n.m. from Kyushu island.
