As seen from the HMS Enterprise (D-52), the Nevada (BB-36) is moving into position off Cherbourg to bombard enemy gun batteries on 25 June 1944.
German battleship SMS Bayern - fortunately for the Royal Navy incomplete at the time of Jutland in 1916, as was her sister Baden. These were the High Seas Fleet's only 15 in dreadnoughts: with no significant surface action after the battle they saw minimal combat. Both were scuttled at Scapa Flow in June 1919.
