"Last night along with 6 really amazing people I hiked up to Delicate Arch in Moab, Utah. If you have never been up to Delicate Arch, it's a pretty intense hike up. We started our ascent before sunset and arrived during blue hour. Within 30 minutes of arriving at the arch we started to see lightning in the distance. "
Acropolis Ferchow by Ted Gore, via 500px. "These are called sand tufas. This area used to be under water at mono lake, but good ole Los Angeles has been slowly depleting the lake over the years. ... However, having done so revealed some pretty other-worldly formations. These were under water fresh water springs that had a high level of calcium. As the fresh water bubbled up through the salt water of mono lake, the sand and calcium were deposited creating these tubes."
