On the left, you have a piercing needle, and on the right you have a piercing gun stud that is used in a piercing gun. Piercing needles are sharp and cause the least amount of damage when put through the skin, and they create a pathway for the jewelry to sit in. This reduces irritation and scarring so your piercing can heal properly and stay healthy.
