5th Grade Common Core Information Writing Formative Assessment Pack

It can be challenging to assess student writing formatively. Teachers can only confer with so many students each day. Finding out on a summative assessment that your students struggled with a learning target is frustrating to say the least. Use this formative assessment pack to get a quick check on all your students’ writing progress. Includes 7 quick assessments with detailed rubrics which for each of the following areas: Lead, Transitions, Ending, Elaboration, Craft, Spelling, and Punctuation. Use during the closure phase of each lesson to give all students timely feedback that they can use before the summative assessment. You can also use the assessments to identify students needing additional instruction and form strategy groups for each learning target.
