Steve and Jeri Wakefield had the idea nine years ago to build an amazing tree house for their grandsons, Lincoln and Sullivan Scott, in their Dallas backyard. It took three months to build the initial structure, a 100-square-foot air-conditioned, electrically lit space.
Architecture For Life
The proportions of the home are based on a steel frame skeleton system. Each of the 8 frames were fabricated off-site and engineered to fit perfectly on the back of a flat-bed delivery truck. Once the pier footings were in place, the frames were delivered to the site and lifted into place. This method allowed the structure to be cost-effective, sensible and methodical. A home in the woods
How funny a tree grew a forgotten staircase.
Skillion roof and weatherboard (Scyon Linea fibre cement), north facing highlight awning windows. Paint it blue and white for the coastal Australian sensibility.
