OP: Elijah Wood was thoroughly deprived of an award he deserved when he didn't win an Oscar for his depiction of Frodo. Many label his portrayal as weak. To that I say: Frodo Baggins was never strong. He had not the brawn of Aragorn, nor the courage of Gimli. He was a simple, quiet, small man, and a power far greater than any else could bear overwhelmed him. Where in that journey did the audience expect to see strength, or wit, or joy? We saw Frodo as Tolkien meant him to be seen.
