Saxifraga southside seedling - This plant makes large rosettes of very pale green leaves heavily encrusted with silvery deposits, the encrustation being limestone exuded by the leaves, hence the requirement for chalky soil. When it reaches full size, the plant flowers, producing tall arching plumes of white flowers, which are heavily spotted with red near the base of each petal. The plant then dies, leaving several offsets identical to parent. Also seeds making hybred seedlings.
