Gold pendant, the frame set with gems between scrolls,enclosing a large brownish chalcedony cameo illustrating the event from the Bible, recorded by St. John, 13, vv. 4-17, when Jesus Christ, knowing that his end was near, washed the feet of his disciples, as an example of perfect brotherly love.
Gold jewel set with two onyx cameo busts of Louis XIII (1601-1643) and Anne of Austria (1601-1666) facing towards each other within a frame of acanthus leaves, interspersed with table-cut diamonds and surmounted by a Royal crown, similarly-set. French, 2nd half of the 17th century.
Stuart (1542-1587) facing in profile towards the right. The frame is red with white details, and the back which is covered with a diaper pattern of red and green stylised floral motifs and white quatrefoils is dated 1566, suspension loop, and formerly hung with pearl drop below. French, 1566.
