The mounting has a platinum top and yellow gold undercarriage. The filigree top echoes the heart shape with pierced work incorporating a fleur-de-lis motif. Cartier broche draperie belonging to Marie-Emilie, countess Esterházy (1913), set in platinum, gold, old-cut round diamonds, five cushion-shaped sapphires for a total weight of 39,66 carats. Cartier named “broche draperie” those pendant brooches formed by two elements joint together by a pin, to which the pendant would be suspended, originally a “guirlande” style drape.
