Bill Krause -- D-Type Jaguar / Grid for Practice Krause finished 3rd in the #27 Jaguar. Looking at the mixed field of production and modified cars, this must be a practice session for one of Saturday's amateur events, with a few pros getting in some extra laps for testing.
Phil Hill: Ferrari 860 Monza #0604 M -- Pebble Beach, April 22, 1956 Hill finished 2nd in the "Del Monte Cup" at Pebble Beach on April 22, 1956 in John von Neumann's 3432cc. Ferrari 860 Monza #0604. Carroll Shelby won the race in Dick Hall's 3-liter Ferrari Monza. Ernie McAfee was killed during the event in Bill Doheny's Ferrari 121LM leading to the end of racing on the tree-lined Pebble Beach course.
Dick Morgensen -- Ferrari 250TR 'Testa Rossa" Morgensen finished 2nd to fellow Arizonan Jim Connor in the September 3-4, 1960 main event at Santa Barbara.
Mike Roetnor -- Ferrari 250TR "Testa Rossa" Roetnor campaigned this ex-John von Neumann car #0710 in 1961. He finished 7th in the main event at Santa Barbara on May 28, 1961.
Richie Ginther -- Ferrari 412 MI (3) A closer look at the 412 MI. At this time the car was owned and entered by Fred Knoop, who also drove the car himself in amateur events.
Carroll Shelby -- Ferrari 750 Monza Carroll Shelby on his way to victory in the Del Monte Trophy event at Pebble Beach, 1956. The car is Dick Hall's Ferrari 750 Monza. Phil Hill won this event in the same car the year before.
Nethercutt at Riverside's Turn 6 during the April 2-3, 1960 "Examiner Grand Prix" at Riverside. Nethercutt qualified the car but turned it over to Pete Lovely for the main event. Lovely finished 3rd behind Carroll Shelby and Ken Miles. Earlier, Nethercutt & Lovely finished 3rd in the 12 hour race at Sebring Florida. Pete Lovely later owned the car and raced it at historic events through the 1990s.
