lady's Traveling or Day Dress from about 1880. Consisting of a polonaise bodice and underskirt skirt, it is made of light, soft tan wool (cashmere, I think) trimmed with rich dark brown silk satin. The polonaise bodice is lined with dark brown cotton. Its skirt portion is unlined. The bodice fastens with 14 buttons (missing). It's cuffs are satin with faux lacing and silk tassels.
