In the ancient Greek original, 'justice' is 'dike' (pronounced dee-keh). It has nothing to do with giving to friends baps and enemies bitter desserts. The word is a whisper of a circular concept, and denotes a means by which a polis (the entirety of a public people) gather together as a harmonious wheel of plumb spokes and a golden hub.
