Museum restoring 1918 car produced by U.S. industry pioneer: The Toyota Automobile Museum is restoring dilapidated, 96-year-old car that is probably the oldest Franklin brand model in existence in Japan. The museum plans to have the Franklin Series 9 model running again as early as June next year. The classic car was manufactured in 1918 by now-defunct U.S. automaker Franklin Automobile Co. and donated to the museum in 2007.
