Gerda Taro was a war photographer, and the companion and professional partner of photographer Robert Capa. Taro is regarded as the first female photojournalist to cover the front lines of a war and to die while doing so.
The famous portrait of Ernesto “Che” Guevara, “Guerrillero Heróico”, was taken on March 5, 1960 by Cuban photographer Alberto Korda, who was Fidel Castro's right-hand photographer during the revolution.
