AN APULIAN RED-FIGURE GOAT-HEAD RHYTON  325-300 B.C.  The black-glazed head finely and realistically modelled with added white paint to accentuate the features, the neck of the vessel decorated in red-figure with female head in profile between scrolling tendrils; and a similar unglazed terracotta goat-head rhyton, decorated with white slip, 325-300 B.C.  7½ in. (19 cm.) and 6¾ in (17.5 cm.) long respectively

In the form of a gazelle's head with naturalistic features, the ears held back, the neck with the figure of a spotted gazelle in the centre, palmettes on either side and a yellow and white striped band below, band of ovolo on the neck rim, a strap handle on the underside  6¼ in. (15.8 cm.) high
