Soviet Forces - tribute to Soviet women in ww2
*Late 1930's - German, Austrian and Czechoslovakian children of Jewish descent were permitted to leave their countries and families on the Kindertransport; a train bound for Britain. These children ranged in age from infant to 17 and were placed with families in Britain. Many never saw their parents again.

Flight nurses of the 807th Medical Air Evacuation Transport Squadron show their worn-out shoes after returning to Italy, 9 January 1944. On 8 November 1943 a C-53 carrying 13 flight nurses and 13 medics of the 807th MAETS crash-landed in Nazi-occupied Albania. Over the next 2 months, they will all safely escape by foot back to Allied territory.
