Momoyama period (late 16th century) A zunari (head-shaped) three plate iron of 'yaro-to' (rough fellow's head) shape with boar's bristle forming the hair with a tied top-knot, the mabisashi of a further plate of red-lacquered iron forming a high forehead, maedate (fore-crest) of two opposed carp of wood with gold.

Suji bachi kabuto, signed:Echizan nu Kuni Toyohara Jū Bamen Tomotsugu Saku (Made by Bamen Tomotsugu, residing in Toyohara, Echizen Province [Fukui Prefecture]). Bamen Tomotsugu was the leading armorer of the Bamen School in the eighteenth century.
