Middleham Castle is located in Wensleydale, in the county of North Yorkshire, in England.  The castle was built in 1270 on an earlier site from 1190.  The castle ruins are extensive, and although the roof no longer exists, most of the walls are intact.  The castle is rectangular in design and consists of a massive Norman keep surrounded by a later curtain wall.  There are turrets in each corner and a midway along each wall.

Following her death near Baynard’s Castle, London, three days earlier, Elizabeth Boleyn (née Howard), Countess of Wiltshire and mother of the late Queen Anne Boleyn, was buried at St Mary’s Church, Lambeth, just next to Lambeth Palace, on 7th April 1538.
