TIFFANY Late 19th century ladies’ watches were often disguised as musical instruments or nestled in blooming flowers of enamel, gold and diamonds. A lapel watch by chief Tiffany designer Paulding Farnham (1859-1927) was inspired by a twig from a blossoming apple tree. The watch was part of Tiffany’s gold-medal exhibit at the 1889 Paris World’s Fair.
