Christian de Laubadere, French artist living and working in Shanghai. Using a charcoal background and chiaroscuro technique, he paints enigmatic and fascinating pictures of the napes of women's necks. Never revealing their faces, the elegant figures are embellished with antique fabrics and lace, creating in his works a mysterious fusion of his French heritage and adopted Chinese culture.
