I’m not sure if these can technically be called kaleidoscopes….BUT this tutorial encourages making simple open-ended DIY kaleidoscopes that your kids can use to look at a variety of objects and materials. It also includes some easy suggestions for "ends" including Perler bead discs and colorful paper.
