Circa 1880-1900, gilt silver and 14k gold, the dangling balls are set with fire red Bohemian garnets which smolder like embers when they catch the light. These earrings are sublime marriages, remade most probably in the 1920s from three components all late Victorian. This is vintage chic at its one-of-a-kind best. attributed Austrian
Gold, black and white enamel and demantoid garnet necklace, hung with an oriental grey pearl. Anthemion (honeysuckle) motifs clasp the three rows at the front of the necklace and fasten them at the sides to the single row at the back. Throughout, graduated damantoid garnets in beaded gold settings alternate with openwork links enamelled black and white. Signed C & AG, for Carlo and Arthur Giuliano, on the back of the clasp behind. English, c. 1900.
