Stupice is my favorite early tomato. The vines have a narrow growth habit, and they sucker like crazy, so you'll have to keep pinching off the lower growth. But the tomatoes are ready in about 50 days, and flavor is better than the early hybrids. Try it, you'll like it. But don't pronounce it stew-piss; it's a Czech heirloom that's pronounced stew-PEACH-ka!
Early Girl Tomato - Sun: Full sun Harvest Size: 6 to 8 ounces Days to Harvest: 50 days Plant Size: 6 to 8 feet Plant Type: Indeterminate No matter what your favorite tomato may be, you need to plant Early Girl for that long-awaited first tomato of the season. It ripens at least a week before other varieties, but no sacrifice is made for earliness. Early Girl is a delicious, mid-sized tomato that ripens bright red. Because it is indeterminate and produces until frost.
