Japanese poem by Ono no Komachi (around 9th century) "Seeing the moonlight spilling down / through these trees, / my heart fills to the brim / with autumn." - Ono no Komachi (小野小町), exact dates of birth and death unknown.The only woman of the 6 great poets, Ono no Komachi specialized in love poems. It is believed that she was born in what is now the Akita Prefecture sometime around the years 825 - 835. In addition to her skill with poetry, she is said to have been extraordinarily beautiful.
