Once the holder of the Blue Riband, the SS United States lies tied and abandoned to a dock in Maryland.
RMS Adriatic. The fourth and final ship in the "Big Four", built for the White Star Line. Adriatic was the first ocean liner to have an indoor swimming pool and a Turkish bath at the disposal of passengers. She also inaugurated the Southampton-New York route and the first ship to use the new White Star dock in Southampton. She would continue on the Southampton-New York route until Olympic took over the service, at which point Adriatic returned to sailing from Liverpool.
