Another picture of tutu skirt. 3 Inch frills are sewn onto pants. Al 5 layers made from stiff gathered net frills are sewn onto a one layer platter and give the tutu a slight bell or umbrella shape depending on the diameter of the hoop inserted. The top two layers (tacked to the skirt) that lay flat on top can be made of gathered net, pleated or go very well with a ribbon candy overlay.
1: Another way of making a tutu. This tutu has one layer and all frills are sewn onto this same layer. (see the circles). The hoop is inserted near the last frill. There are two layers of gathered net that lay flat against the tutu skirt. This gives a fluffy appearance to this tutu. The layers can be pleated too. This tutu is good for heavy decoration.
2 : Underskirt of tutu. All layers are made of gathered net and are sewn onto the same tutu plate. When worn the tutu has a slight umbrella or bell shape depending on diameter of the hoop inserted. As frills are sewn onto the same plate the tutu is no so scratchy.
