Sea Point Baths and Rail Line. 1923. The clock on the Pavilion was provided by E.Burmester, the Jeweller, Watchmaker and Optician of Adderley Street. His Will, dated 3 October 1914 stated: "In grateful remembrance of the very pleasant times I had at Sea Point, I determine that my heirs shall erect there on the beach, a fine clock tower to the value of two hundred to three hundred pounds sterling.

Today’s residential areas were mostly farms and small-holdings.. Unfortunately a small area on the right (Sea Point) has been damaged and the ‘repair job’ could have been better, but still gives a good indication of the lay of the land.
