A VERY RARE OPAQUE JADE DRAGON PENDANT, HUAN - EASTERN HAN DYNASTY (25-220)
Chinese Art | Ornament | F1916.146
View 1: This huang is the form of a crescent with terminal heads of dragons. The body of the crescent is covered in raised bumps with an incised spiral form, as if once again like the double dragon pendants, what is being represents is fur like a sheep. The quality of the carving is exquisite, with the teeth detailed and even given some modeling for their form, the eye likewise. It is one of the finest of its type I have ever seen.
