U House is a minimalist house designed by Tokyo-based designer Tadashi Suga Architects. The house consists of a parent and child, two households, and a guest room. The site is in the city’s old uptown, about five minutes from the main station. The residence is characterized by an elongated site, with the upper level completely exposed through a series of floor-to-ceiling glazings. The ground floor, however, is walled off completely from pedestrian view.

Yokaya Duplex Restaurant + Residence by rhythmdesign in interior design architecture. The wooden structure is on a narrow site of 135 square meters (abt. 1450 square feet). The restaurant consists of concrete floors and exposed wooden ceiling beams. House of Fujinomiya is a minimalist house designed by CASE DESIGN STUDIO. A garden is placed at the center of the building in order to provide a relationship with greenery at both the front and back of the house. The living space is opened up to the outside overlooking a small rectangular pond.
