B. Not a bad red, big and robust, but not outstanding. Interesting that they call this a "hoppy ale" on the label only because there are other red ales out there that deliver a lot more on the hop front. Hops do balance the heavy malt, but don't warrant putting it in the name.
Bell's Hopslam Ale is brewed using a ridiculously complex combination of hops (the most complex hopping schedule in the Bell's lineup, in fact), providing a delicious aroma and fruity, honey-sweetened and balanced flavor that is so easy on the palate it might just get you in trouble – especially because it also clocks in at 10% alcohol by volume!
