"The moon had just set directly where the Milky Way became visible giving the sky a turquoise glow that I have not seen since. These are the tufa towers at Mono Lake on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada mountains outside of Yosemite National Park. The combination of the Milky Way and these ancient formations gives the image a timeless quality. This is a 2 shot vertical panorama. I wanted the image to be like a slice of time and space, thus, the title."
