Sake available in Vancouver - 'Little g' (g for ginjo). Probably the best American made sake out there, from the Sake One kura in Oregon (same one that makes Momokawa), it uses California rice, Oregon water and Japanese yeast and Koji.
Sake available in Vancouver (and everywhere else for that matter) - Gekkeikan. This is the reason why most people dislike sake. It's the "hot sake" you find at all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants. Made in California with table rice, don't let this swill speak for all sake.
Sake available (virtually everywhere) in Vancouver - Sho Chiku Bai Junmai. Not nearly the worst Californian made sake, but it still scrapes the bottom of the barrel. A decent substitute when the liquor store is out of Hakutsuru.
