V-neck is the most slimming and slenderizing of all necklines. Angles are always more slenderizing then curves. The deeper the the V, the more advantage received from the line, but it will make a long neck look too long unless the neckline is filled in with jewelry, a scarf, long hair, large earrings, or a shawl. Since it adds length to the body it is not flattering on a very thin figure.
This cashmere Berluti sweater has been knitted with the textural 'seed' stitch, so named as it resembles scattered kernels. This effect is offset by a thickly ribbed shawl collar and cuffs. The vivid mustard shade makes a stylish point of difference to more muted tones. Shown here with a Brioni shirt, Berluti jeans and boots and a Bottega Veneta holdall.
