Light Interference on a Soap Bubble by Lesley Williamson The phenomenon of light reflecting off a soap bubble is rarely observed. The iridescent colours are caused by interfering light waves, some of which reflect off the outer surface. I used a macro lens in order to capture this in detail. No adjustments were made to colour or saturation in Photoshop, only a simple square crop!

Ernst Haas - Oil Spill 1952. design reference - following words by original poster: I wanted to analyse this photograph because of the multitude of colours from the oil spill that reflects off the blue background, along with Haas’ shadow which has rippled along the edges because of the rain. Haas uses the rule of thirds around the oil spill, where the top, left, right and bottom of the spill touches the lines and becomes the centre of the image.
