Congratulations to the team at JAXA on the successful launch of the ‘Hayabusa2’ rocket! Hayabusa2 took off as planned at 1:22 p.m. on December 3, 2014. It is embarking on a journey to clarify the origin and evolution of the solar system. It will target and analyze a C-type asteroid (“1993 JU3”), which it will reach in 2018. Upon completing its mission, Hayabusa2 will return to earth in 2020 – just after the Tokyo Olympics!
