"Banishing demons one bean at a time: Purging evil takes a tasty twist during the Setsubun festival" a great article by the Japan Times. Setsubun is celebrated on February 3rd, and is one of my favorite memories from Japan. Now that I know that shelled peanuts are an alternative to the traditional soybeans, the oni will have to watch out next Febuary!
