I'm a not so closeted Star Wars geek, so of course when I completed this sample, the first thing I thought of were Tatooine's twin suns! This sample was made by first binding natural cotton muslin and dyeing it in a burnt orange Procion dyebath. The red was achieved by folding and clamping the fabric with small circular objects before submersion in the second Procion dyebath. This folding and clamping process is called itajime, a technique under the shibori umbrella.
