Growing a salad garden is easier than you think. Most salad greens are quick growing and ready to harvest just 4 to 6 weeks from seeding, and they can be grown in garden beds or containers. Grow a variety of types for gourmet mixed salads from spring until late autumn.

The main heat of summer can be a little hot and dry for trays of salad so I always start mine off in March and have salad to pick in April. I just use a little peat free multipurpose compost and a seed tray- there’s loads of containers you could use to grow salad - old mushroom punnets from supermarket with drainage holes in, wooden crates, I even recently saw a front garden full of reused polystyrene boxes that has been used to grow winter salads. There are loads of lovely salad mixes to choose from and you can pick a tray for weeks. It will regrow several times. I sow them every few weeks for a continuous supply. #gardeningforbegin Salad Container Garden, Salad Mixes, Winter Salads, Garden Inspo, Salad Leaves, Winter Salad, Vegetable Gardens, Gardening Advice, Garden Boxes
