Roman military art

Scipio Africanus was a Roman general and statesman, most notable as one of the main architects of Rome's victory against Carthage in the Second Punic War. Often regarded as one of the greatest military commanders and strate gists of all time, his greatest military achievement was the defeat of Hannibal at the Battle of Zama. Scipio was also the first Roman general to expand Roman territories outside Italy and islands around the Italian mainland.

A Roman Centurion leaning against a piece of heavy artillery set probably in the late 1st Century AD to mid 2nd Century AD due to the manica (segmented plate armour) on the sword arm which became more common after the campaigns of Domitian and Trajan in Dacia.
