This is the De Brazza’s monkey! ( Cercopithecus neglectus) Native to a wide range in Central Africa's riverine forests and wetlands. Capable swimmers and referred to as swamp monkeys, they settle within one mile (1.6km) of water sources. Quiet and shy, they primarily communicate via visual and scent cues in dense forests to escape prying eyes. Threatened by deforestation, hunting, and the wildlife trade.
