There are several studies that link clenching and teeth grinding to stress levels. 

Some researchers even theorize that we adapted the jaw clenching trait to strengthen our masseter muscles so we would have a stronger bite in conflicts (yikes!). 

We may have a range of emotional reactions when we begin to work on this area. It’s not uncommon for an emotional undercurrent (that you may not be even aware of) to well up when you begin to work on this area. 

But like I said in the video, the goal is to teach our body safety and that it’s time to let go when we work on the physical release.
