Furnishing nests for your ducks to lay in helps keep the eggs clean and protects them from being cooked by sun, washed by rain, or frozen in cold weather. Eggs laid in nests are easier for you to find than eggs hidden in the grass. And, buried in nesting material under cover, they are hidden from plain sight and therefore are more difficult for predators to find.

Here's a cool way to create a beautiful look to your ducks area

New duck brooding pen and it worked wonderfully for our 4 weeks old 2 Cayuga ducks, Dolly and Dixie. It is great because the top opens so changing the water and food. Also, placed a new tarp down with straw on top to make sure they had enough room to hang out during the day and also we can now start to train them that they go in the crate/ duck house at night so in a few weeks when we transfer them outside they are used to that process of going in at night and be brought out in the morning.

Ducks need a lot of water, this work in progress is a covered area to protect the chicks from predators. They leave their heated shed through a tunnel into a converted poly tunnel for food and a swim.
