Horned beetle

Rhinoceros beetle horns are some of the biggest and most elaborate weapons found in the animal kingdom. Large male beetles commonly develop extravagant weaponry such as horns or enlarged mandibles , and it has been shown that there is a price to be paid. Growth of horns appears to trade-off with the growth of other structures during larval development such as eyes, antennae, wings and genitalia.
