This is another shot of a tropical bird at the Bloedel Conservatory in Vancouver. The conservatory is a large, domed enclosure that supports a variety of tropical birds that fly freely and plants that grow in a hot house like environment. For safety and research, all of the birds are banded (note the red band on the leg). Unfortunately, I have not been able to identify the species. The photo was taken in March 2010, with an Olympus digital camera. Enjoy.

This is a yellow canary. I think this bird is one of the most symbollic things in this play. Although the bird isn't seen until the play is almost over, it has so much meaning. Mrs. Wright is described as a canary bird before becoming married as she was a bright and cheery person who loved to sing. When the two women find the bird with its neck wrung, the realize that it was the motive for what Mrs. Wright did to her husband. The bird was her tipping point.
