The owners, Penny Post and her husband Richard Post, bought this midcentury modern-style home in Paradise Valley, Ariz., for $950,000 in 1998, according to public records. Built in 1969 and designed by Paul Christian Yaeger, the home was renovated in 2003 but remains faithful to the architect’s original design, Ms. Post said.

The couple lived in the home for two years before they did any significant renovations, to get a feel for the space. They spoke to about a dozen architects before deciding to do much of the design themselves, along with a contractor. ‘The architects all wanted to change everything, and we didn’t,’ she said, preferring to keep Yaeger’s design intact.
