The Ilkley Moor is one of those places you visit that lives something special on your mind - that never goes away... whether it is the smell or the view or the moment ... I have never forgotten it and I doubt if I ever will. I visited Ilkley Moor about 20 times during the time we spent in Guiseley and Harrogate... I just loved the place...

Guiseley Association Football Club is an English football club based in Guiseley, West Yorkshire. Founded in 1909 by a local group of enthusiasts, the club’s first success came in 1913 when they won the local Wharfedale League. Following the end of the First World War the club switched to the Leeds League, achieving little until 1924 when another switch, to the West Riding County Amateur Football League, eventually brought success.
Former soldier who smuggled Afghan girl out of Calais refugee camp spared jail
A former soldier has been spared jail for what he called the “crime of compassion” of trying to smuggle a four-year-old Afghan girl into Britain from the squalid Calais Jungle refugee camp. Rob Lawrie, 49, of Guiseley, near Leeds, appeared close to tears as – to loud applause in the courtroom – a French judge said he would only have to pay a fine of €1,000 (£755). The fine will be waived completely if after five years he had committed no further offences.
